Tips on Spotting Phishing Emails and Scam Emails.
I am sure some of you in the Missouri Conference have gotten fake emails before from someone.
An example that comes to mind is some people getting emails from a past Bishop or Pastors requesting gift cards or to send money on their behalf. Those are almost always phishing or fake emails.
Phishing Email: Phishing is a type of online scam where criminals impersonate legitimate organizations via email, text message, advertisement, or other means in order to steal sensitive information.

Emails from the Conference and District Offices
If you do not get an email from an official email account from the District or Conference office ending in (Name)moumethodist.org or (name).missouri@brtapp.com you should be careful clicking on anything within that email. We will not send you anything from gmails, Hotmail, etc.
