The Candidacy Summit and Inspire

This is the second year in which the Centers for Congregational Excellence and Leadership Excellence have combined two events into one.  The Candidacy Summit and Inspire (a discernment retreat for people God may be nudging to start something new) will be held back to back on January 24 and 25.

Hosted by the Center for Leadership Excellence:
The Candidacy Summit will be held on January 24-26, 2020 at the Conference Office in Columbia.

The Summit is for candidates for ministry who have:
1) Met with and been approved by the local pastor and the District Superintendent.
2) Been registered with UMCARES and paid their $75 fee on UMCARES.
3) Registered through Candidacy Summit registration at moumethodist.org.

The Candidacy Summit runs from Friday at 1:00 pm to Saturday at 5:30 pm for those who have already completed a psychological assessment.  Those taking the psychological assessment at the Candidacy Summit will stay through Sunday morning.

Hosted by the Center for Congregational Excellence:
Inspire is a discernment retreat woven into the Candidacy Summit. It will occur on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 1:30—5:30 pm at the Conference Office in Columbia.

As a pastor or lay person, you may have dreamed of doing a totally new thing for God.
Inspire is a set aside time to help persons discern if God is calling them to create new places for new people in Missouri. Those who sense God’s leading to start anything from a small group to a new church will be invited to join the 2020 Planting Academy.

Persons can register to attend Inspire on its own on Saturday afternoon without attending the Candidacy Summit. All Candidacy Summit attendees will participate in the Inspire portion of the weekend.
